Lower School
The department offers courses to all pupils in Years 7 and 8, that enable them to experience a range of focused tasks and context-driven projects in a selection of the three areas of Food, Graphics and Resistant Materials. In order to maximise the teaching time available within each subject area, the pupils are taught on a carousel system.
Pupils may opt to continue with their interest in Design and Technology in Year 9, following courses in Food Preparation and Nutrition and Resistant Materials. These courses both cover modules to prepare pupils for GCSE.
Sixth Form
Pupils may opt to study examination courses at GCSE in Design & Technology: Resistant Materials and Food Preparation and Nutrition. We offer A level Design & Technology: Product Design and are launching WJEC Food Science and Nutrition Level 3 Diploma to start in September 2020.
