Modern Foreign Languages are taught to all students from Year 7 onwards. In Years 7 and 8, pupils choose to study one language from French, German or Spanish. In Year 9, pupils continue with their chosen language and may also opt to study a second language, choosing from French, German or Spanish. All pupils take at least one language for GCSE. All three languages are offered at A level. Native-speaking language assistants provide one-to-one conversation with Sixth Form students, helping to develop fluency in the language.
We try to give the girls the opportunity to visit Germany, France or Spain through exchange visits and cultural home-stay trips. Recent trips have taken the girls to Munich, Nice and Granada.
