Duke of Edinburgh Expedition Successfully Completed Despite Weather

Ready for their Silver Assessed Expedition, the girls arrived at school early on Tuesday 11 April, in high spirits despite the 7.00 am start time.  The girls travelled to the South Downs, and began their trek, only to find out halfway through the day that the winds were too dangerous to camp that night.  They were a bit disappointed but happy to go home to a comfortable bed, armed with a plan as to how they could evidence their campsite capabilities.

So, the next day, the group came to school and proved all of their campsite skills that they could not showcase the night before, like putting up their tents, cooking with the trangia and first aid emergency skills.  They returned to school on Thursday morning and headed back to the South Downs for their final day of walking, which they navigated very well, avoiding getting lost.  The group all finished in high spirits, having admired the lovely views along the way following a comfortable nights sleep.
