Dutertre House MasterChef Judges Impressed with Pupils' Creativity and Skill

On Thursday, each House picked two volunteers from Years 7 - 10 to partake in two cooking challenges; a technical, where they had to produce Swiss tartlets, and a creative, where they had to prepare a bread dish.  We were very lucky to have as judges, again this year, former Deputy Head, Mrs Anne Griffiths and former Head of Food Technology, Mrs Anne Goddard.

Girls had lots of fun making the dishes and deciding on the best House was extremely difficult.  They were judged on cooking skills, presentation, level of difficulty, texture and taste.  The winners will be announced in Assembly next Monday and they will receive some chocolates.

Mrs Griffiths and Mrs Goddard said the following after the event:

"We were very impressed with the team effort, variety of dishes and the enthusiasm from everyone who took part."

Despite the time pressure, the atmosphere was purposeful and jolly, with all the girls helping each other in a moment of need.

Well done to all the girls who took part and made such an effort to produce amazing dishes in a limited period of time.
