Hampshire Outdoors to Help Run DofE Expeditions with Farnborough Hill

To accommodate the fantastic interest we have in the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award, we are working with Hampshire Outdoors to help run the Expeditions.  Five teams had Bronze expeditions with Hampshire Outdoors this weekend, some of whom have shared their experiences below.

Emiliya (9α) reflects on the Expedition, saying:

"The views were amazing and we were very lucky to have had such a sunny weekend.

We got to our campsite quite early and began setting up our tent. It was a lovely warm evening.  I loved sitting with my group as our dinners cooked, talking about the next day's route and clapping the other groups as they came in after their first day.

In the morning we set off nice and early and I enjoyed seeing all the wildlife and the amazing surroundings.  When we got back to our meeting point there was a sense of achievement and a small wave of relief.  I am glad to have experienced something new like this."

Rose (9B) describes her experience:

"The first bite of hot food when you are at the campsite is glorious, as is enjoying the moments with your closest friends.  I had previously thought about dropping out of DofE, and if you have felt this way, the only advice I can give you is push yourself and see what you can achieve - unless of course you strongly believe it is not for you.  All I know is that I have made memories for a lifetime and is definitely an experience I will not forget.  I am not saying it is easy, but you will be proud that you have completed something challenging, something you have never thought of doing before."
