A year filled with performance opportunities kicked off on Monday evening with our first Informal Music Concert, featuring ensembles and choirs from across the Year Groups. As well as classics such as Orchestra and Wind Band, we heard String Quartet and Flute choir, new student-led groups. After Swing Band’s excellent performance, Year 7 Choir made their debut, demonstrating their passion and confidence with a solo-filled rendition of Do, Re, Mi, followed by an enthusiastic Gospel Medley.
It is safe to say we have a talented group moving up through the School. Our Junior and Senior Choirs sang some favourites to finish off the evening, which were much appreciated by a hall full of friends and family. Our retiring collection was in aid of the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice and, thanks to your generosity, we managed to raise close to £300 for this very worthy cause. The effort and commitment which pupils have been putting into perfecting their parts does not go unnoticed, and it paid off with a fantastic concert.
