Sixth Form Charity Week

Sixth Form Charity Week

Following the huge success of the Red Nose Day Endurance Challenge by Year 11 pupils, we are continuing with a charity focus in School this week – the annual Sixth Form Charity Week.

Kicking off today with a Blue and Yellow non-uniform day, there will be events each day of the week, from the typical (more cakes, Farnborough Hill?) to the sublime – a magic workshop and the teachers’ Masked Singer!

This year, the money we raise during Sixth Form Charity Week will be split evenly between two charities: Disasters Emergency Committee, Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal and Rape Crisis, England and Wales.

The Disasters Emergency Committee is an umbrella group of UK charities which has launched a Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. At least 3 million people have fled their homes to escape the conflict in Ukraine, so these charities and their local partners are providing food, water, shelter, and medical assistance to all those affected. Our donations will help in providing these basic human needs and improve the quality of life for so many during this devastating time. The School has set up a Just Giving page to support the DEC’s appeal, which you can find here.

Rape Crisis, England and Wales is the umbrella body for a network of independent Rape Crisis Centres. It works to ensure that victims and survivors of sexual violence and abuse get the support that they need and aims to try and prevent further sexual violence and abuse by education and awareness raising. Our donations will enable them to continue providing the high standard of professional support to the survivors.

These charities are close to our hearts and we are passionate about supporting the work that they do.

We really encourage everyone to get involved in as many of the exciting events we have planned this week, as the small donations you bring will make a huge difference. Thank you for your support in advance.
