Sixth Form on the Hill Tutoring

Ten students from the sixth form on the hill are providing a free online tutoring service for girls in Years 10 to 12 who may be struggling with aspects of GCSE and A level learning at home during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Covering a range of subjects including English Language and Literature, French, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, Psychology, Politics, Economics and Maths, the Year 13 students feel they can bring an up-to-date perspective on the curriculum.  They would like to help younger girls, who are struggling or feel isolated, with one to one tutorials, useful hints and tips, online resources and video.

Their intention is to help those who may not have parental support or the notes required to help them complete the assignments and school work they have been set.  Others may simply want to continue their education during lockdown.  The Farnborough Hill girls are all extremely passionate about their learning and want to help enthuse other students to adopt the same level of pride in their academic studies.

Craig McCready, Head of Sixth Form, says, “These students are thrilled to be able to offer help and support to any girls in the local area who might feel they need a boost in a particular area.  I am extremely proud of their drive and willingness to help others: they are incredible role models and excited to create a female-focused learning environment.”
