On Thursday 13 October, the Farnborough Hill Friends once again pulled off a spectacular fireworks event. From 6.00 pm, a lively crowd of over 500 filled up the School grounds as the atmosphere filled with excitement. To everyone’s delight, at the top of the Hill were various food and drink trucks, as well as the Friends stall, selling sweets and drinks for just £1.00. Thank you to Joe’s Mobile Café, Sprinkle of Saffron, Daisy’s Ice Cream, The Chippy Wagon, and the Waffle Wagon for serving delicious treats to us all and helping to make the night so memorable. As the sun set and the Hill filled with darkness, the music was turned up and the busy crowd gathered at the fence, with familiar faces of girls and their friends enjoying a huge chocolate waffle or cotton candy.
Amongst all the chatter, the clock eventually hit 7.30 pm and the countdown from ten began. Soon enough, the sky was filled with vibrant explosions. After a short while, the show finished with a huge applause and cheering from the families of Farnborough Hill. Whilst the energy in the atmosphere remained, people grabbed their last snacks and headed home.
We thank the Friends committee for organising this event. A great deal of thought and planning went into putting this occasion together and already our community cannot wait for next year.
