The U13A netball team played Ipswich last Tuesday in the semi-final of the National Plate Competition. The girls have so far faced Emmanuel School, St George's Weybridge and Colfe's School to reach this stage of the competition and have gone from strength to strength.
The game started very competitively, with both teams scoring off their centre passes and keeping calm in the first five minutes. After the first quarter, Farnborough Hill were up by just four goals. The second quarter saw some small changes to the team, the girls adapted well and continued to play superbly to pull away with a half time score of 19 - 13.
A very tense third quarter and Ipswich came back strong with some brilliant shooting to close the gap to 23 - 19. However, with great maturity and patience, the girls kept their cool and worked tirelessly to finish comfortably with a well-deserved 35 - 25 win.
I am very proud of each and every one of them for their performance, enthusiasm and commitment.
