A Christmas Celebration

A Christmas Celebration

The Hall was packed on Friday evening, 9 December 2016, as a capacity audience enjoyed a feast of entertainment at this year’s Christmas Celebration.

Described by one parent as ‘vintage’, all of the Music Department’s choral, orchestral and instrument ensembles were involved, as were the audience as over 300 people combined to sing congregational carols, accompanied by Orchestra, String Group and Wind Band.

A particular highlight was the world premier of Merry Christmas (Oh ho ho), a carol written and performed by Phoebe and Lara (7A), with a clarinet solo by Hannah (U6) and backing vocals provided by Year 7 Choir and Junior Choir.

Thank you to all of those who helped make event happen, particularly to all of the performers.  And a very big thank you to the Music Department - Dr Taylor, Miss Warwick, Mr McSweeney and Mr Thompson for their hard work in bringing so many students together to produce such a variety of fantastic music.
