Carols with Sister Rennie

Carols with Sister Rennie

Sister Veronica Rennie was overwhelmed by the large turn-out to her surprise birthday celebrations on Sunday 4 December 2016. Over 100 old girls, past and present staff and family members assembled to sing carols to entertain the Sisters for the fourth year running but this year was extra special. One Old Girl came with her daughter and grandchildren from the Netherlands especially for the occasion.

Dr Jo Russell had made two very large and delicious cakes to share round and there were candles for Sister to blow out. All was washed down appropriately with Farnborough Hill's very own 'Apple Heaven'.

The Carol Singing was informal and a large impromptu choir ably sang 'Oh Holy Night' as requested by the Sisters. Traditional carols were rounded off by the Twelve Days of Christmas and there was a collection made for Kairos, a charity close to Sister McCormack's heart for the homeless. This amounted to £149.92.
