Choral Evensong at Guildford Cathedral

Last Wednesday, the Senior Choir enjoyed the privilege of singing Choral Evensong at the majestic Guildford Cathedral. Ably supported by a loyal band of tenors and basses, the beauty of the girls’ voices rang through the cathedral as they delivered the Psalms, provided the choral responses and offered the Magnificat and Nunc Dimitis to a setting by Thomas Walmisley. The anthem was the challenging setting of the Benedictus by Edward Elgar which was particularly appreciated both by the congregation and by the Cathedral staff.
