Former Pupil Dies in Tragic Accident

I am the resurrection and the life, says the Lord,
whoever believes in me will never die.'

(John 11:25-26)

We ask you to walk alongside us in prayer as we grieve a lovely
and talented Old Girl and friend, Lucy Pygott,
who tragically died on Tuesday 8 November 2016.

We pray for Lucy’s parents, family and friends.
We entrust Lucy into the embrace of God.
May she now see Him face to face.

Mrs Neil, has said how shocked and bereft everyone at school is following the tragic death of Lucy Pygott, a student at Farnborough Hill until July 2016. Lucy, who celebrated her 17th birthday a week ago, was killed in a road traffic accident in Aldershot while out running with Aldershot, Farnham and District Athletic Club (AFD) on Tuesday 8 November 2016.

Lucy (pictured left and below third from left) was very academic, gaining 8A* and 2As at GCSE, a hugely talented runner, coming second in the London Mini Marathon in April, and had a very bright future ahead of her.  Mrs Neil said “Lucy was a very popular and talented member of the wider school community and has many friends still at Farnborough Hill.  We are all struggling to come to terms with what has happened but we are a close and strong community and everyone is helping each other.   Our thoughts and prayers are with her family”.

Mr Peter Forrest-Biggs, pastoral Head of Year 11, paid tribute to her, commenting “Lucy brought her wonderful smile and friendship to everyone she encountered.  She excelled in all that she put her mind to; a truly talented athlete yet extremely modest with it.  Lucy was a naturally gentle and kind young lady, who will be deeply missed by the whole school community.”

Miss Dee Andrews, her Year 11 Form Tutor said “The brightness of her hair equalled the brightness of her smile and the energy with which she approached every aspect of school life.  The world is an emptier and poorer place without her.
