Friends' Firework Fiesta

Friends' Firework Fiesta

On an appropriately crisp and dark night, over 700 people scaled the hill to enjoy the first Friends’ Firework Fiesta in many years. Current parents and pupils were invited to the festive evening to enjoy the autumnal atmosphere and a glorious firework display, while raising funds for the Farnborough Hill Friends.

The hill was festooned with glittering lamps as families made their way to the top, where their efforts were rewarded by an amazing foodie market: everything from curry to candyfloss and hot chocolate to pizza were on offer from expert street food vendors. Music played as the revellers mingled under the shadow of the Old House, enjoying the community of Farnborough Hill. A sudden hush fell and all eyes turned to the east to watch the first explosions of colour - ‘oohs’ and ‘ahhs’ mingled with the pops and bangs as the incredible display got underway.

All too soon the sky fell dark again, the silence being broken by gasps of delight and cries of congratulations to all those involved in organising such an brilliant evening.

A heartfelt thank you to the Friends for their vision and hard work which made the night such a success, and an extra thank you to all those who attended.
