Fun Run

Fun Run

On Friday 30 June we saw a sea of people, all dressed in bright yellow, complete a 3k run through our beautiful grounds. The run was organised by members of the Lower Sixth and was in aid of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance Service. We were honoured to welcome Sir John Day, Chair of Trustees of the Air Ambulance Service.  Sir John really enjoyed the event and was extremely grateful for the efforts that the girls were making to raise money for this entirely self-funded charity.  The school has been humbled by the number of people who took part in the run, and are extremely proud to have raised over £10,500 for this wonderful charity.

The run was brilliantly organised by the Lower Sixth and was very thoughtfully and caringly planned. Participants were asked to wear yellow to reflect the colours of the Air Ambulance service. Vicky, one of the Lower Sixth organisers said, ‘I found the event really uplifting – it was great to see everyone turn up in yellow.  The atmosphere was really positive and I am delighted with the amount we have raised.’

Mrs Neil said, ‘the Fun Run was a perfect example of the spirit of Farnborough Hill.  The whole community worked together to achieve a huge donation and had great fun in the process’.
