A combination of perfect weather, brilliant organisation by the PE Department and sporting enthusiasm meant that our Inter-House Sports Afternoon was a triumph.
Many of the girls participated, representing their Houses in a variety of events including sprinting, hurdles, relay, high jump, long jump, discus, javelin, shot put and obstacle races. Staff from all disciplines officiated at the events and many took part in the Staff/Parents/Sixth Form Relay and the epic and much anticipated Staff v Sixth Form Tug of War. When girls were not competing, they provided lots of support for their peers and this really contributed to the wonderful atmosphere. We were also delighted that many parents were able to attend adding even more spectator support. Refreshments in the form of strawberries and cream and ice cream topped off a perfect afternoon.
Thank you to all the PE staff, parents, Heads of Houses, staff supervising and officiating, the grounds team, the catering team, the caretaking team, Matron and of course, all the girls for taking part so spiritedly.
