John Suchet, renowned journalist, TV newsreader and host of Classic FM's weekday morning show, visited Farnborough Hill on Friday 25 November 2016 to give a masterclass in radio broadcasting and to meet students across the year groups.
During the masterclass, Mr Suchet explained to Sixth Form Enrichment students, the difference between broadcasting with classical music and with pop/rock music and described the varied techniques used by radio broadcasters for these different types of programmes. His insights were fascinating and the girls learned a tremendous amount. Students from the F'Hill Radio team interviewed him and played a selection of classical tracks which he had provided. This interview will be broadcast around the school in the near future. The day ended with a Q&A session in the Grand Salon.
We are grateful to Mr Suchet for giving so generously of his time, for donating two signed copies of his most recent books and for providing us such a wonderful inside view of the world of broadcasting.
