Open Morning

Open Morning

Open Morning, on Saturday 13 May 2017, was one of the highlights of the year.  Family and friends of students in Years 7 - 9 had an insight into the students' experience of school, attending open lessons, rehearsals, demonstrations and displays.

Visitors to the school were treated to a wide variety of activities involving girls in Years 7 - 9.  There were a whole series of open lessons which showcased some of the inspirational teaching which goes on every day.  Parents could take a seat alongside their daughters and learn something new or take part in hands-on Science experiments which we hope gave them a real understanding of their daughters' experiences.  Thought-provoking drama performances in Theatre on the Hill, open rehearsals by the school orchestra in St Cecilia's and a display of gymnastics and dance in the Sports Hall were just some of the treats on offer.  Visitors could also explore the whole school and see examples of their daughters' work on display.  It was a very busy morning, but there was still time to relax on the Cloister Lawn and have a welcome cup of tea in the Refectory.  The morning finished with a beautiful and thoughtful service in the Chapel which focused on vocations and the Good Shepherd.

This year, we arranged for some professional photographs to be taken during the morning and some of these will be available as a gallery soon.

Thank you to all our visitors - it was wonderful to meet them all.  And thank you to all the students, teaching staff, catering staff and caretaking and grounds teams who worked so hard to make Open Morning such a special and successful event.
