Oxbridge Girls Lead the Way

Oxbridge Girls Lead the Way

The release of examination results on Thursday 18 August 2016 saw another very successful year for Farnborough Hill with A*/A percentages up again from last year to 48% with a fantastic 97% at A* - C.  Leading the way were our Oxbridge candidates (pictured) who all secured their places: Lucy with A*A*A*A reading Natural Sciences at Trinity Hall, Cambridge; Holly A*A*A*A reading History at Pembroke College, Cambridge and Carys with A*AA studying Experimental Psychology at Wadham College, University of Oxford.

Other top achievers included: Rebecca with A*A*A reading Earth Science at Durham; with A*AA Eleanor reading History at Durham, Laura going to Birmingham to study Medicine and Saskia going to Birmingham to study Geography with a year abroad; Kailey with AAAA and is going to Durham to study Economics and Management; Beth with A*AB will go to Exeter to read Mathematics and Natalie with AAA will read Biochemistry at Bristol.

There was success across the board with the vast majority of girls getting their first choice universities.  Girls are studying a wide variety of subjects, destinations are varied and several other girls are looking forward to going abroad, among them Saskia (see above),  Emma with AAB studying International Management & Modern Languages at Bath and Aliya with ABB going to Edinburgh to study French and Spanish.

Headmistress, Mrs Sarah Buckle said, “Once again we are very proud of our students’ achievements. They are multi-talented and excel in a whole range of extra-curricular activities as well as their academic studies; they thoroughly deserve their excellent results.  Credit for their achievements must also go to our inspiring and dedicated teaching staff at Farnborough Hill who always go the extra mile to support their students”.
