Mrs Winch-Johnson reports:
I am immensely proud to say that the Rotary Senior Public Speaking Youth Speaks Shield has been won by our senior team comprising Roisin (11A) as Chairman, Catriona (12WIN) as Speaker and Imogen (12BRT) as Vote of Thanks. Looking at the shield, we can see that it has been won by our school on many occasions since this particular shield started in 2002, and it is very good to bring it back home.
The three were a magnificent team and scored very highly indeed. Not only was the speech on social media riveting but they all worked as a team in the three roles, and were full of confidence, charm and charisma – an excellent combination, as well as being perfectly prepared and poised. They also looked very polished and calm. It was a very long evening with eight teams from senior schools and colleges. Well done to all the girls who now go on to the district contest.
