Senior Choir at Salisbury

Senior Choir at Salisbury

The Senior Choir were thrilled recently to have the opportunity to sing in the truly magnificent Salisbury Cathedral. They were the visiting choir providing the music for Evensong on Tuesday 14 February 2017. The music for the service was demanding, requiring energy and concentration, not to mention pitch-perfect singing. Under the direction of Dr Ian Taylor, the girls in the choir rose to the challenge with maturity and sounded absolutely beautiful in the cathedral's wonderful acoustic.

Music which the choir sang for the service:

Ayleward - Preces & Responses
Psalm 74
Stanford - Magnificat - soprano solo by Beth Daniels
Stanford - Nunc Dimittis - bass solo by Sam Mitchell
Fauré - Cantique de Jean Racine

Thank you to the Music Department for organising this visit, to the staff and friends of the school (tenors and basses) who supplemented the choir and particular congratulations to Beth on her outstanding singing in the Magnificat.
