Wonderful Concerts

Phyllis Tuckwell Concert

On Friday 13 October 2017, around 50 members of Senior Choir took part in the annual performance in aid of the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, travelling to Salesian College to perform alongside the Salesian Scola and Sixth Form Ensemble and the Hart Male Voice Choir. The Senior Choir performed a challenging but varied programme, opening with the spiritual Plenty Good Room and concluding with Bob Chilcott's lively setting of The Echoing Green. The choir was a credit to the School and there were many very positive comments from the audience who noted the attention to detail and the overall quality of sound.

 Musical Soirée

The Musical Soirée, on Tuesday 17 October 2017, involved over 100 girls in a variety of ensembles ranging from Year 7 to 13. This informal evening was an opportunity for a packed house to get a glimpse of what our musicians have been up to so far this term. Alongside the various school ensembles, the programme included some solo items, a piece for five performers on one piano, and an arrangement of Pachelbel's Canon made by members of the Year 9 Music group. There was a great energy about all the performances, ranging from Year 7's spirited Gospel Medley to the dazzling virtuosity of the Flute Quartet playing Zig Zag Zoo. Well done to all the girls involved in this very special evening.

Particular thanks to the Music Department: Dr Ian Taylor, Miss Lucy Warwick and Mr Joseph Adams whose hard work, enthusiasm and inspiration were behind these special concerts.

Some short films from the Soirée are below together to a link to more photos.
