World Book Day

World Book Day

Fun and generosity were the themes of this year's World Book Day celebrations on Thursday 3 March 2016 with a special assembly, a mufti day for staff and students, many of whom dressed as book characters, a grand second-hand charity book sale and cake sale in the library.  Girls very generously donated good quality used books and went away with new reading material, raising over £300 for Book Aid International, a charity which sends much needed books to Sub-Saharan Africa.

Students and staff came to school in fabulous costumes bringing to life much-loved characters from books such as Peter Pan, Wizard of Oz, Great Expectations, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (an abundance of oompa loompas!), Mr Men, Anne of Green Gables, Alice in Wonderland, The Hunger Games, Harry Potter and many more.

Thank you to everyone for your generosity and for entering into the spirit of the day so enthusiastically!  To view some photos:
