Year 10 girls spent two days sampling the bespoke offerings of the Sixth Form on the Hill. Academics, the social aspect and all-important enrichment were covered in the taster days which allowed each girl to choose a programme which best suited her interests and aspirations.
Subject taster lessons gave an insight into the excellent A level teaching and small class sizes, and included A level-only subjects Psychology and Economics. The Friday Enrichment programme offered a huge range of sessions, from scuba diving to a TEFL introduction. And, on the social side, the girls were granted Sixth Form privileges such as gaining some ‘free’ periods, using the Common Room and flats for some relaxing and, of course, the weekly batch of cookies! The parents information evening was very well attended and allowed them to find out about our offerings at this crucial stage in their daughter's education journey.
The experience is designed to give a true taste of Sixth Form life on the hill and, over the summer, the girls will be considering what subjects they would like to study at A level and what their aspirations are beyond school. Further information will be provided at the Sixth Form Information Evening in September before they have individual meetings with the Head of Sixth to discuss their options.
