Our Mission
Farnborough Hill welcomes all into our community, where we aim to live Christ’s Gospel values joyfully and wholeheartedly, forming each individual to fulfil her potential and face the future with wisdom, strength and dignity.
One of the most immediately striking things about Farnborough Hill is the warmth and sincerity of its welcome. Each new person is welcomed into our diverse community as a unique being, someone with a distinctive potential and purpose, someone who carries their very own light which we will encourage them to shine out, with courage and confidence.
Our Gospel values of Love, Hope, Faith and Compassion lie at the heart of our mission, driving us in our aim to be the best that we can be, to serve each other and the wider world, and to work towards creating a better society. These values are evident in our daily life at school, in our relationships with each other, in our outreach activities within the local community and in the attitudes and values that stay with our alumnae for life. We create good citizens who go out into the world to make their own contribution to build up ‘the common good’.
Life at Farnborough Hill is a great adventure, both in the sense of the inspirational academic journey and in the many exciting opportunities we provide for personal development and enrichment. With a rich offering of academic, sporting, cultural, faith and social activities on offer, Farnborough Hill girls can expect to be debating global issues, honing their entrepreneurial skills, creating beautiful pottery, delivering inspirational drama performances, playing jazz standards, refining their badminton techniques, planning expeditions, serving less advantaged people at Lourdes, designing clothes or green powered cars, empowering local Year 4s with their work in Drama, Sport or Science, teaching English to refugee families, keeping bees and much more. We just ask that you come with an attitude of openness to these amazing opportunities, so that you might have ‘life in all its fullness’ (John 10.10).
Our students strive for excellence in so many areas of their lives, and we all support each other to achieve this aim. We know that the journey can be tough, and we promote resilience so that our girls will leave us equipped with all the tools they need to sustain success in their future lives. We hold fast to Abbé Lafosse’s original injunction to ‘serve the Lord Joyfully and wholeheartedly’. This is a hugely happy school, where our girls thrive in their learning and use their heads, hearts and hands to create a better future for our world.
