We are incredibly sorry to hear the news of the potential closure of St Joseph’s College, Reading. As a school which shares the same Catholic ethos and has a strikingly similar pupil profile, we hope that you will find a welcoming and familiar home with us to see your daughter happily though her remaining school years.
We understand that you will want to make the best choice for your daughter's next steps and we are here to help in whatever way you find easiest. If you would like to explore the website to discover Farnborough Hill for yourself, please do so. If you would prefer to speak on the phone, please call our Registrar, Emily Murnieks, on 01252 226908 ([email protected]). Or, if you would like to come for a face-to-face chat and tour, please don't hesitate to ask and we will arrange this for you.
The Admissions Team will be available to answer emails and calls over half term (Monday 25 May - Friday 29 May) and you are invited to come and meet with our Headmistress, Maria Young during the break. School reopens on Monday 1 June and you are very welcome to arrange a visit that week, or indeed any time during the term. It will be fairly quiet around the School as our pupils will be sitting their summer assessments, but it is a great opportunity for you to see the site and get a sense of our ethos.
We understand you might have additional questions about an all-girls' education, having previously chosen a co-educational school. The Girls' Schools Association has undertaken a lot of research into the benefits of girls learning alongside girls, but we would really encourage you to come along and ask our girls and staff about it from a day-to-day point of view.
Please explore the tabs below to find out more about joining each Year Group and to register your daughter. We understand that families will not have planned for a move and we want to support as much as we can. There will be no registration fee payable for families moving from St Joseph's and for your daughter's first year we will honour the fees published by St Joseph's for 2026/27. Likewise, bursary arrangements will also be honoured for one year, and would then be subject to annual review as per our own policy.
We have collated the most pertinent information under each tab to make your research as easy as possible; if you do have the time, please explore the rest of the site to gain more of an insight into what Farnborough Hill offers your daughter.
