      School Nurse (Full-Time)

Farnborough Hill is seeking to appoint an outstanding, compassionate, professional and highly organised School Nurse to join our welcoming and successful independent school community.

The School Nurse plays a vital role in contributing to the health, wellbeing and safeguarding of our pupils and wider school community. The successful candidate will provide high-quality medical care and support pupils' physical and emotional wellbeing, whilst working closely with pastoral, safeguarding and teaching colleagues.

This is a full-time role, term time only plus Inset days, with the normal hours of work Monday to Friday, 8.00 am – 4.30 pm, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. The successful applicant may occasionally be required to work additional hours in connection with school events, parents’ evenings, trips, sporting fixtures or emergency situations.

The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, empathy and understanding of young people's needs, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff and external professionals. The successful candidate will also contribute to the strategic development of health and wellbeing provision across the School.

      The successful applicant will:

      • Be a Registered Nurse (RN Child, RN Adult, RGN or RPHN).
      • Have experience of working with children or young people, ideally within a school or community setting.
      • Demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and record-keeping skills.
      • Be committed to supporting pupil wellbeing and safeguarding.
      • Be able to work independently whilst contributing effectively as part of a wider pastoral team.

Experience of paediatric nursing, sports injury management, first aid training or work within an educational environment would be advantageous.

The School Nurse is line managed by the Deputy Head – Pastoral and will undertake such duties as may reasonably be required in accordance with the Job Description.

The salary will be competitive and dependent upon qualifications and experience.  In addition, the School offers:

      • Free on-site parking.
      • Fee remission for a daughter attending the School, in line with the current policy, subject to the usual standards and procedures for admission.
      • A supportive and collaborative working environment.
      • Opportunities for professional development and training.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a highly regarded and successful girls' independent school with motivated pupils and a strong pastoral ethos.

Farnborough Hill is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be required to undergo the appropriate DBS Code of Practice check.

If you require any further information about this post or the School please telephone Mel Clark, the Headmistress’s PA, in the first instance, on 01252 545197.
