The last few months have been gloriously busy in the Admissions Department as we took the Class of 2032 (yikes!) though the admissions journey, and this year it has been exceptionally fun thanks to the infectious enthusiasm of our current pupils who have jumped at the chance to be involved in several ways.
Starting with the Open Afternoon in October, the super sixth formers acted as hosts and guides showing families new to the School around the beautiful site and letting them discover how incredible a Farnborough Hill education is. Younger years, in their lessons, were warm and welcoming, keen to chat with visiting girls and their parents about life on the Hill and what they love most about being here. It’s a delight to overhear some of their Farnborough Hill favourites, though we must say food features highly! A special mention to the pupils who run stalls at the Co-Curricular showcase: these girls spend a solid 90 minutes sharing their love for a particular part of the School, showing off everything from Drama and Music, to Greenpower and Robotics. It reinforces so beautifully that there is something for everyone here!
This was quickly followed by F’Hill Fridays. Introduced a few years ago, our fantastic teachers put on a taster lesson on each Friday afternoon after school in November so that girls registered for the entrance assessment can try out their subject, get to know the School better and begin to make friends. Again, the sixth formers act as fantastic hosts and get stuck in alongside the Year 6s, facilitating the girls having a super time with us. The feedback from this initiative is really heart-warming, with parents commenting how their daughters feel at home on the Hill before they even officially join. So, a big bravo to our sixth formers and our teachers! And, we saw the evidence of their comfort on the entrance assessment day before Christmas, when there were few nerves, and, instead, lots of shouted greetings and familiar, happy, faces being sought out.

Looking ahead, our next Open Afternoon is on Friday 6 February at 1.30 pm - if you know of families who might like to explore Farnborough Hill for their daughters, please do let them know!
