It isn't every day a World News Reporter drops by the Old House, but this week’s ‘Insight Into...’ session featured alumna Emily Wright (2019), who is currently making waves at the Daily Express.
Emily talked about the realities of the industry, describing the adrenaline-fuelled challenge of filing up to seven stories a day. She brought along a portfolio of her newspaper articles, giving the girls a tangible look at what a career in global headlines actually looks like.
She shared how her A level Politics and degree in History (subjects she loved but didn't necessarily link to a specific job at the time) have become her most vital tool for navigating world news. It was a fantastic reminder for our current pupils that the subjects you study now are building the groundwork for careers that might not even be on your radar yet.
