The Class of 2025 gathered at Farnborough Hill this morning to receive their A level results, with half of all grades being at A or A*.

43% of the Year Group averaged a grade A across their subjects, with particular mentions to Alice, who earned 4A*s (plus an A* in her EPQ) and to Delilah, hugely admired Head Girl, who banked 3A*s alongside all her Junior Leadership responsibilities. Delilah has secured an offer to read Medicine at university, while Alice holds a place at Imperial College for Natural Sciences.

Lucy, Matilda, Safiya, Rafaella and Arilyn celebrated grades of 2A* and 1A and are continuing their learning at some of the country’s top universities with Rafaella going up to Oxford to study English Literature. Rain achieved 1A*, 2As and a B, earning a place to read Mathematics, and Gabriella, Rhea and Sugden secured A* and 2As, earning places to study Medicine, Psychology and Horticulture respectively. Both Lauren and Sarah attained 3As and Sarah will join Delilah and Gabriella in reading Medicine. In addition to celebrating their excellent A level results, Lucy, Sarah and Rhea also attained an A* in their Extended Project Qualifications.

Alongside the girls studying the more traditional degree courses are Emily, who will be following her passion for Dance, and Celeste, an incredibly talented artist, who is going to be learning the craft of Game Art. Bethan will be continuing her love of Technical Theatre at Rose Bruford College, and Emma will be studying at Mountview, one of the UK’s leading theatre schools. Both Bethan and Emma were cornerstones of the Drama Department, lending their talents to several productions during their time on the hill.

The traditional subjects of Mathematics and English Literature delivered excellent outcomes for their students, with Mathematics averaging an A grade and English a B+. The Sciences, with 32 entries across the three subjects, averaged B+; History, French, Politics and Further Maths delivered an average A grade.

Headmistress Maria Young was delighted for the cohort, commenting:

‘This is a phenomenally talented Year Group, not just academically but in all facets of school life, as evidenced by the rich and varied degree paths they have chosen. They have shown tenacity and dedication within their studies, while not neglecting the importance of enriching themselves beyond the classroom. I have witnessed humour, compassion and an inordinate amount of inner strength, not to mention all the dancing, from this amazing group of young people and I am so very proud of all they have achieved; they have taken the first step towards adulthood and we cannot wait to witness their contributions to the wider world. Go strong, girls: you’ve got this!

I would also like to thank the staff here at Farnborough Hill for their dedication to educating each student as the individual they are – your understanding of them as unique people makes no small impact on what they can achieve. It truly does take a community to raise tomorrow’s generation and I am so proud of the part you have played in shaping these amazing young women’s futures. Great things lie ahead!’
